The Internet and The Web

F.T.P( File Transfer Protocol) is a standard network protocol used to copy a file from one host to another over a TCP/IP-based network, such as the Internet. FTP is built on a client-server architecture and utilizes separate control and data connections between the client and server. FTP users may authenticate themselves using a clear-text sign-in protocol but can connect anonymously if the server is configured to allow it.

Plug-ins is a set of software components that adds specific capabilities to a larger software application. If supported, plug-ins enable customizing the functionality of an application. It can be characterized as a prototype-based object-oriented scripting language that is dynamic, weakly typed and has first-class functions. It is also considered a functional programming language like Scheme and OCaml because it has closures and supports higher-order functions.

Applets  is any small application that performs one specific task, sometimes running within the context of a larger program, perhaps as a plug-in.However, the term typically also refers to Java applets, i.e., programs written in the Java programming language that are included in a web page. The word Applet was first used in 1993 by the application AppleScript.
